Observe Ourselves With

Maximum Honesty

and Compassion

Practice 2 Videos

Practice 2

To varying degrees, each of us has an "idealized self-image" – a set of unrealistically flattering beliefs about ourselves which we are reluctant to let go of.  In order to preserve these beliefs, we tend to twist reality somewhat (e.g., "I was only trying to be helpful and you got mad at me for no reason!"), and this feeds all manner of interpersonal conflicts.  More importantly, it keeps us unaware of the parts of us which need to heal and mature, and this lack of awareness keeps those parts from evolving.

Many spiritual paths suggest that we need to become more aware of our "lower" aspects.  In addition, the more evolved paths point out that meeting those aspects with compassion is necessary to the process of growth, and this is a key aspect of The Way of the Higher Self.  What makes The Way of the Higher Self particularly effective is the amount of detail it provides as to the universal human characteristics we would do well to look for.  This makes the search considerably easier, and greatly accelerates our progress. It must be noted, however, that the source of the overwhelming bulk of this information is the Pathwork Lectures, on which The Way of the Higher Self conceptually rests.

Intro to Observe Ourselves with Maximum Honesty and Compassion, Part One

The point of this practice is to discover the lower self energy which every single one of us carries in one form or another, and bring it into the light of consciousness so that it can mature and transform.  This episode covers the nature of the higher self and the lower self in general; how we typically cope with having a lower self, and the negative consequences of these strategies; and the daily review technique for bringing lower self energy into consciousness.
